Shankar began his career with FosrocChemicals India Limited, Bangalore, India. He joined Akzo Nobel, Bangalore in1996 and has worked in various roles with in supply chain function such asDemand Management, Logistics, warehousing and took over as BU Head ofProcurement for India & South Asia in Y2009. He is currently the Head ofPurchasing for Decorative Paints of AkzoNobel for South Asia, South East Asiaand Middle East.

Shankar holds a Bachelor of Sciencedegree in chemistry and masters in International Business from Indian Instituteof Foreign Trade, Delhi. He is also a‘certified purchase officer’ from ISM, USA.
