Meng Kuan begins his career in 1995 with Siemens Microelectronics. He moved to the Company (Infineon, after the spin-off) Sourcing Operation in 1998, responsible for the strategic material sourcing. He has stationed in the Malacca as the Purchasing Director in 2005 before returning to Singapore to manage the Backend Materials and Equipment purchases worldwide.  He joined STMicroelectronics in 2010.  

Meng Kuan was born in Singapore, in 1968, and graduated with a Master degree in Industrial and System Engineering from National University of Singapore, and a LLB with the University of London.

Currently he is with John Wiley & Sons, a global publishing company that specializes in academic publishing, where as Vice President, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, he is responsible for all of John Wiley’s sourcing and procurement activities globally and leading the enterprise-wide sourcing and procurement transformation, including the implementation of new procurement strategies, processes and systems. David joined Wiley from LG Electronics where he was Regional Procurement Director, Middle East and Africa and was responsible for setting up and leading LG’s Regional Procurement Organization, successfully implementing the organizational and operational support structures and practices in support a multi-billion dollar Regional Sales Operation.

Prior to LG, David spent 8 years with Agere Systems, and subsequently LSI following the merger of the two companies in 2007, where he held various positions and at different times was responsible for reengineering procurement processes and procedures and implementing benchmarking practices and successfully led the enterprise wide implementation of Oracle’s P2P module. He was also responsible for Indirect Procurement in Asia and Europe. Following Agere’s merger with LSI in 2007, David was responsible for Procurement Operations and led the consolidation of the procurement functions of the two companies, including the standardization of policies and procedures and the subsequent re-implementation of LSI’s enterprise wide instance of SAP P2P module. He was also responsible for Indirect Procurement in Asia.

Procurement is David’s second career. Before getting in to procurement he started out in Finance and held various positions whilst at E2open and Electronic Data Systems (now HP Enterprise Services), including Finance Director Asia South at E2open and Director of Finance (ASEAN) and Financial Controller of the GM Asia Business Unit whilst at EDS. Mr. Swadling has been resident in Singapore since 1995, but in his current role splits his time between US and Singapore.
